In New England, our housing inventory consists of new construction to centuries old antiques. It’s not too often you enter an antique home with working fireplaces. Often they are too shallow, crumbling, and are unlined – creating a fire hazard. Every now and then though you do come upon fully restored antiques with working fireplaces. And sometimes, you come upon a reproduction antique that is new, but made to look old.
So I am putting out a bit of a trivia question to you here in this post. Can you guess the age of the fireplace in this photo? Is it an actual antique, or a reproduction?
